WHAT STYLE OF YOGA?

Hatha Yoga
Yoga is an ancient, intelligent holistic approach to health and fitness,it teaches the art of taking control of your own physical, mental and emotional wellbeing. There are many different styles of yoga but Hatha is the most popular form in the West. Different schools of yoga may teach Hatha Yoga slightly differently, however a typical class is composed of moving the physical body into poses (ASANAS) breath techniques (PRANAYAMA) and relaxation/meditation.

Vinyasa Flow Yoga
Vinyasa means "breath-synchronized movement", and Vinyasa yoga is a series of poses that will move you through the power of inhaling and exhaling. Vinyasa movements are smooth and flowing, almost dance-like, which explains why it is sometimes referred to as Flow Yoga or even, a moving meditation. This type of yoga is a little faster than traditional Hatha, holding the poses for less time, working on concentration, balance and particularly co-ordination.

The Benefits of YOGA
Regular practice gives improved muscle tone, flexibility, strength (especially core – strength), balance and co-ordination. Self-awareness and an awareness of the breath is developed which improves respiratory function and is calming for the mind, also being very beneficial to cope with life's stresses. So, in the long term, improvements are found not just in physical fitness levels, but also in the mind and the emotions, helping us to face those turmoils of life with steadiness and stability.
